Recommend you reread your original post because it didn't indicate, imply, allude to or suggest anything about .."(2 months a year here) etc.). A well written sentence that describes your position is essential to getting your point across.

Anyways, for the OP, Cold Gear is a good stuff but works best as part of a layering system. I would go a step further and get the flame-retardant stuff for approximately $50 more. SF. Ride safe. K6

Nate, I have no idea what type of Cold Gear I have but I have the long sleeved mock shirt, the fitted leggings/pants, and the hood/neck gaitor. Saved my tush on some of those cold rides in the 30's! I don't have leathers and it worked well!!! If only I can keep my hands as warm!!!

it's hard to find but if you can find some polypro/wool combo it is sometimes cheaper, just as lite weight but I find warmer because of the wool..Lately everone has switched to using the new fabric and the polypro/wool combo is scarce.. sometimes in a ski shop or an outdoor/hiking/camping/climbing/biking place will have them..They are usually a little more wind resistance, and wick water vapor.. best if used as a layering system just like all the rest.. one brand used to be Chili Hots..

Warm & Safe or Gerbing. Then you don't have to layer. Just wear your normal stuff, turn the heat on and you are good to go. Plus you don't feel like the Michelin Man while riding.

Sorry I have a heated jacket around $150. and with that jacket turn on I will never get cold. But I will wear my FXRG Jacket most of the year till the temp is under freezing then I will add my heated gear.

150 bucks is a lotta cash for some polyester...I wear the Starter brand knock-off Under Armour everyday to work. It does the job for a fraction of the price.

I agree with some of the others...For riding, heated gear is better money spent.
