Default Where to stay in New Orleans

As a part of a trip from Calif. to Daytona Bike Week I plan to stay in New Orleans. Having trouble finding a place with onsite/secure parking close in to the French Quarter/Canal Street. Valet parking or offsite seems to be the norm. Anyone know of places in the French Quarter area where there is onsite parking for my Harley?

"Secure" and New Orleans don't go together....LOL There's a reason it is the most crime filled city in the country per capita.

I always stay at the Hilton Riverside which is walking distance to the French Qt. Parking is an additional $30.00 per night though.

Stayed at Hotel Montelone at the advice of another member on here.....not the cheapest hotel but close to the French Quarters and everything else. When i stopped and ask the valet where to park that was safe he directed me to a specific area of the garage where the valets park their cars.....they block in the area so no one can get your bike out. We stayed for 3 nights and i never worried. Follow the instructions on their website as to how to get to the parking area.....some one way streets are involved.

It's a great hotel and you can walk everywhere.......i would stay for 2 nights....it is one of the best cities i have ever been in.....the smell of cajun food and beer....what else is there....

We stayed at the Embassy Suites, they had off street parking if needed.
Had the new and old section.. the old part was neat and the happy hour came in handy....
walking distance to french area and convention center...

I'll second the Le Richelieu Hotel. I've been to New Orleans on my bike four times in the last four years. Stayed at the Le Richelieu the last two times. They have a secure parking lot at the rear of the hotel with a 24hr guard. And the parking is FREE. Most others charge $10-$12 a day to park. This hotel is in the French Quarter at the quiet end of town. Within walking distance to every attraction in the Quarter. They have a good bar, small resturaunt and a nice pool. I highly recommend this place. PM me if your looking for some good spots to eat. Hope this helps.

The safest place to stay & park your bike in New Orleans is probably Natchez, MS, or, maybe Gulfport.
