riding boots........any advice?
#31
I'm looking at getting a pair of riding boots. Something around 6" or 8" black leather. Most of my riding is around town with short day trips now and then. I want a work boot style with laces. How are the ones with both laces and an inside zipper? I know that if I have to spend time lacing up an 8" boot I won't ware them much. Any thoughts?
You don't pull the laces all the way out. You just loosen them and then pull them tight

I have been wearing Georgia boots for the last 12 years. They are the only boot that I can wear everyday. There is zero break in time with these and they normally last me a few years. I wear them 7 days a week 52 weeks a year.

Any good pair of leather boots that are comfortable will do. Fit and comfort are more imortant than brand or whatever. Style? That's you choice. No real wrong choice there. Recommend oil resistant rubber soles.

Ditto. Love my Danner Acadia's. Completely waterproof, cool enough in the summer, warm enough in the winter, and comfy enough to walk around in when you get there. Traditional combat style don't look half bad either.

A friend of mine had a crash on his bike a while back. He was wearing slip on Redwing Engineer style boots. One came off in the tumble which resulted in foot damage. Point being that anything that just slips on (boots, gloves, etc.) and does not securely strap on, can slip off in a crash. Sidi make great boots that are really protective too. Iron Pony has some $200 AStarts boots on closeout for $69.
