is a trike a real motorcycle?

I was thinking the same thing. Some kind of ball joint hookup between the rear and where the driver sits. Don't know if the rear Axel would follow in a turn without dragging the tires sideways.

the first time i tried to ride a quad was after i had been riding motorcycles for a few years. nearly threw myself off the darn thing at every turn -- no countersteering! i would assume trikes would handle similarly.
my opinion: yes, trikes are motorcycles, but theyre kinda gimped (no negative connotation intended) since there is no countersteering, and you dont have to worry about keeping it upright.
georgia DMV (and i would assume most other states) does not require the MC endorsement on your license for riding trikes or motorcycles with permanently attached sidecars. their reasoning is probably also based on the lack of countersteering and balancing act.

Think has been covered enough but will add in FL if take your test on a Trike will be limited to Trikes only .. Otherwise the laws are pretty much the same .. Lights, Mirrors etc..
