Change your security code to one that you know and can remember. Then when your battery goes dead you can still start your bike and ride to the battery store.

I practice manual over ride ever since a guy I know took off with out his fob which was in the jacket next to me, he had to call me to bring his fob to him becuase he did not know how to start his bike. Since then I do it all the time just to make sure I can with out embarrassing myself. Not a bad idea maybe I will just replace mine very 18 months or so.

To use it...
1) Turn on the key
2) Hold down both signal buttons until the light starts flashing
3) enter the first number by pushing the left signal X number of times
4) hit the right signal
...repeat 3 and 4 until all of the numbers are entered

To change the code, I believe you need to take it into a HD dealer. If it is the 2nd change, I believe you may have to have an element changed out... I can't remember for sure.

Code is a good thing to know, remember, and try once in a while. Might just get ya home from somewhere sometime!
