For pete's sake, we all use enginge braking, to suggest otherwise seems stupid, Faast ed, maybe, should take a refresher course on how to ride, if you don't use gears to moderate your speed, then you should ride an automatic honda or of such. If all you want to do is gas it and use brakes, then hike up your skirt and get a honda!!

I've been around the block, buddy.
Have you ever twisted a crank? I have.
It wasn't fun, and I will do what I can to be easy on my current crank.

Perhaps you need to do some research, before you mouth off.

Sorry if the bike cant cope with engine braking then the bikes engine/tran design is crap, no matter who makes it. Engine braking is a fundamental rule of engine powered driving/riding. Sod the engine and tranny I want my bike to stop in a hurry then I will use what ever means necessary and brakes combined with engine braking is a must FACT.

Engine braking is a must as you come down the side of the mountain. I fear that riding the brakes all the way down a mountain on a bagger would overheat the brakes and warp the disks anyways

Before I would get my brakes that hot, I would use the run off lane.

Duh,.... when the situation becomes a "must", I use the engine. Hello? Not so stupid here.

All I was tryin' to say is that I use it with caution and error on the side of being easy on the crank. I never said I don't do it at all, did I? Did I?????

Just tryin' to share here, I ain't debating so's I can run for office or sumfin'.
You guys are missing my whole point here.

The point was that your crank (03 and up) is a little more vulnerable than previous years and yankin' it around with HARD decels and downshifts increases the likelyhood of a large run-out situation. This translates to increased vibration, hotter running motors, eventually taking out your oil pump. Seen it happen, had it happen.

Take it for what it's worth. Just throwing you a "heads-up".

Do as you please, but insulting me ain't the answer. I really meant well.
