Default fake duals?

saw a street glide or something close to that at a dealer the other day. One pipe had a nice sooty look to it, and the other looked brand new.
someone please tell me harley isn't making fake duals

I think that's HD Hybrid...runs on one until extra power is needed

Possibly someone laid it down and damaged the pipe on one side, dealer installed a take-off to replace it.
Some "fake" pipes are available for guys who want a balanced look but 2into1 exhaust.

In that case the other cyclinder would be needed often! LOL

Some companies make what is called a ghost pipe. Its a 2 into 1 exhaust but they have the fake pipe on the other side to balance out the look from the rear.

On the 2009 and earlier touring bikes HD had a crossover tube that connected the rear cylinder exhaust to both the left and right exhaust pipes. The right one always gets the bulk of it and gets a little more sooty after time. They did away with this on the 2010's. Now the touring models only have one pipe out the right side. This also what people mean when they say they have "true duals" installed. That means they did away with the crossover tube and the rear cylinder is piped directly to the left pipe and the front to the right. There are some people who install dummy pipes on the left side of softails to make them look more like a touring style with a 2 into 1 on the right, so it very well could have been a total dummy pipe.

Fake pipes are just like Fake ****.
Nice to look at, but other than that, they serve no purpose.
