I know most of you won't bother
but, I was wondering if there are many of you that polishes your own aluminum original equipment parts, such as the brake and clutch lever rather than buying chrome replacements.
Most of you may not have the time to fool with it but I figured there might be a few that likes to do things like that.

Chrome?!!!!
Chrome sux, aluminum doesn't rust. It's easier to paint, too.
Did tick me off when I bought my front brake master cylinder and lever; was s'posed to be aluminum, but they were back-ordered, so the company sent a chrome set instead.

Calm down Skip remember that bad word is only on the screen and is not and is not just outside ready to cover you’re bike all up when you’re not looking . Go with polished stainless steel I think it looks better and will last just about forever.

ok...I have restored BSA cycles...all side covers are bare aluminum, this is my process for covers.
1 disk sand all the defects feathering them in 120g.400g,
2 then to the stand mounted buffer. red rougue, then white rouge(sometimes I start with black...very course)
3 clean up with blue magic or mothers mag polish
these covers are very rough when I start...yours will probably not need sanding unless they have nicks in them

Mothers Billet polish works wonders on polished aluminum. Makes it shine like chrome with very little effort. I still have chrome though,
lots of chrome!
