I am getting ready to put a new rear tire on my 00 rkc. the bike has almost 19,000 miles on it. the bacj tire definetly need to be replaced but the fron still looks good. all the stealers have been telling me that you should only get about 15,000 miles out of the front tire, just wanted to know what everyone elses opinion was, should i replace the front and the rear or just the rear? how many miles are you guys & girls getting out ogf a front tire? if it matters it is the orignal dunlop front tire, the back has been replaced once.

 

I have almost 10000 miles on my tires, and the front is done. The rear tire still has some meat on it, but since I decided to go with Metzeler ME880 tires, I am replacing both at the same time.

I has less than 3k on my front b4 a piece of glass puntured it. It's brand new now.

 

if both are 16 then you can figure 2 to 1 rear to front if you have a 21 that is another story maybe 8 thou on a frontif you are lucky

I have over 12,000 on my Wide Glide with 21" front tire. Just had a new rear tire put on and asked about the front one, they said I don't need a front tire for a good while yet. Tickles me to pieces!!

 

2 rears 1 front on touring modles. My dad got 25000 out of his stock front Dunlop, and he still thought he could geat a few more thousand out of it. I ended up buying him a new one last fall. It didn't look to good to me, plus he's my Dad, and I'd like to keep riding with him. Hate to think if that tire blew out what would happen.

 

25000 on my front.Still had tread but was getting some frontend wobble.New tire fixed it

 

Change fronts every other rear, about 20000 miles on mine.
