It's official.....my butt is iron clad!

Yes,... and at times NO!....
That ride was grueling to me. I'm sure 1,000 miles is nothing to some of you guys but it was a workout for me. My legs were killing me.
The funny part is that I didn't know about IronButt until I was surfing the internet the day after my ride out to the east coast. I didn't start keeping receipts until about 300-400 miles in to my ride. So I thought, Ok... I'll just do it again on the way back!
Well when I got to the north side of Indianapolis (Lebanon?), the clouds were too dark, and the tornado sirens were going off. I got a room and stayed the night. So screwed up my return trip as well.
All in all, looking back at my experience, I realize that the cold beer and big fat cheese steak sub I consumed immediately upon arriving at my destination was all the trophy I needed. And while it would be awesome to have a complete IronButt submission and certificate hangin on my garage wall, I still have the memories from a really killer solo 1,086 mile 21 hour ride.

Got an email yesterday from the Iron Butt Assoc that I'm in. They confirmed that my ride was reviewed and confirmed as a "good" ride. got my password number and the cert. is to be in the mail soon. Ride was on July 9th so not too long of a wait. Thinking of how to celebrate.

Congrats. You earned it.
I did one this summer with my M/C. We're making it an annual club challenge because we had such a great time on that ride. It wasn't so bad, I rode the whole 1126 miles we ended up doing without a windshield and I didn't really feel like I needed one. I did spend the last 400 or so miles puking at every gas stop b/c I had a wicked stomach virus hit me out of nowhere.
