Default 09 Electra Glide throttle problem

I have an 09 Electra Gide Standard with about 9800 miles on it. Today I came to a stop light and when I went to take off I had no throttle response. The bike just idled. I shut it down, turned it back on and had throttle agian. Now, The check engine light comes on while the engine is idling for the first 10 seconds and goes off but the bike seems to run fine. Has anyone had this same problem?

Thumbs up throttle responce

08 Roadglide had the same issue Dealer could not find any issue Suprise!, I fount the switch housing to tight causing the wires to ground and fail. Opened up switch housing to make sure wires were in the cutout were they should be. Properly tighten clamp. Good to go 900 miles no issue

the check engine light stays on and goes off because it has a code stored in it. you can do a quick search on here for steps on reading the code. I know fuelmoto had it posted on there website at one time and harleygoodies just posted it earlier today in one of his posts (I just don't remember which one).

Default dead throttle

Have had the same issue. Dealer says no problem, never heard of it. Have talked with several people who have had this issue. First happened on my 08 Ultra Classic at about 20, 000 mi. One day at the end of last summer. It went away until today. Check engine light comes on throttle goes dead, only runs at an idle. last time after a few minutes could ride again, for a while. Not so today. If you hear of any solutions let me know. Dealer is totally useless on this.

I've not had the problem but certainly have read several posts on this forum from other members who have, so you aren't alone. I can only say that it seems to boil down to electrical contacts being momentarily interrupted by moisture, vibration, heat, corrosion or voodoo, satanists, etc. A possible pinched wire is certainly in the mix too. If you can look at your manual and find out how to read any error codes that might exist in your computer's brain that would be helpful.....but as others have suggested your dealer is perhaps the least likely to help you sort it out. One thing is for certain it's not your imagination as dealers like to make you think. I recall some riders saying turning your ignition switch on and off several times can be helpful to get the TBW working again.......sacrificing a lamb or two may have the same effect. I don't mean to make light of your situation.... I know how frustrating intermittent problems like this can be.

Default dead throttle issue

Okay folks, take a seat. MOCO is acknowledging this problem. Bulletin TT4182. Dealer is replacing ECM and a related wiring harness. Stranger things have happened! This is for the issue where check engine light comes on and throttle goes dead (down to idle) Pretty scary in 80mph bumper to bumper traffic.Very intermittent problem in my case.

Default 08 street glide throttle proplem resolved!

Half throttle problem started @25000 miles. 1510, 2127 and 2126 codes. Changed throttle grip, pins in connector and harley put in a new ecm. I could continue to ride the bike and attain highway speeds due to the 103 kit, 255 cams, power commander and dyno tuning. Finally my hd service suggested and performed replacing #39 pin and wire(violet w/white tracer) between ecm and connector under dash. So far everything is beautiful. 1000 miles on repair. Can't say much more except "Thank You Tony!"

Ya gotta have faith!
