I use a black balaclava type of mask that has cinch cords that allows me to close it up to the point that only my eyes are exposed. I then use a gaitor to cover the neck and lower face with a 2nd layer. that with glasses allows me to ride all day in 30's temps. this winter I am installing the heated grips...

Thanks for the input. Great websites given and would like to know if anyone else has cold gear websites they go to.

In looking at the sites I notice electric clothing. Does anyone have experience with say electric gloves and vests? Do these get plugged into the cigarette lighter or do they run on batteries that you have to carry?

I do wear gantlet gloves but as I get older my fingers are starting to get that frost bite feeling on extended trips. I would think an electric vest would work quite well. Not very bulky and warm if the electric technology works.

I wear a balaclava as well. Just have to pull it down under my nose at stops or my glasses will fog.

I just went on a 3600 mile ride, snow, 1200 miles of rain 21-35 degrees for 1300 miles before I ran into Texas and 100 degree weather, I wore a leather bandana and a 3/4 helmet, worked out just fine for me.....

Full face helmet and a basic skiing neck gaiter...here in CO it can pretty darn cool on the freeway in December.

Electric heated clothing is normally conected to a special harness that is connected to your battery posts. Check out Gerbings for heated gear. Very nice stuff and very durable.
