Default Great gas mileage

Several weeks ago my wife and I took a cruise up into the Blue ridge. I topped the fuel off prior to leaving. We traveled 129 miles. I topped the fuel off again on the way back home. It took 2.30 gal. That's 56mpg! I was sure that I had miscalculated. I had expected 45-47mpg.

Yesterday I rode 119 miles through the mountains alone. The fuel tank was topped off just prior to the ride. Upon returning, I topped it off again a few miles from home. It took 2.1 gal. Thats almost 57mpg.

Thats pretty damn good mileage, I think. Are any of the rest of you getting that mileage?

BTW, my motor is a stocker with only the stage I done and SERT tuned.

Man, that's amazing!

the best I've been able to get is about 47 mpg. I thought my bike was getting crap mileage as I'd only been able to get 42 mpg on highway runs, and about as low as 28 mpg in the city... anyway, it turns out I have a lead throttle hand, hehehehe...

Cheers!

I'm at around 51-52 mpg on a carbed '04 Wide Glide with Stage 1

Low 40's with a 95" build with big thirsty carbs on a '02 Heritage.

With the 05 Springer Classic I was running 41 mpg. with the windshield and 50 mpg. with out it. But the 93 FX Springer I had with the stage 1 was running 60 mpg., but it also had the 65T rear pulley with the europen gearing as far as I know 93 was the only year they did that.

I only average 40-41 mpg on an 03 WG. I ride mostly with the windshield on so I am accepting that this is the reason for the lower milage but I don't know if this is the reason that I'm not getting better milage. I leave work at midnight to the windshield saves my face from lots of bugs. It's amazing how many bugs you can pick up in 46 miles.

I have tried shifting anywhere between 2000 - 2500 RPM and no matter where I shift my milage stays the same. I don't think I'm heavy on the throttle at all so I'm kinda at a loss for ideas to increse my milage. Any one having suggestions please feel free to let me know.

The best that I got with my 05 Springer was about 51-52. The worst was about 46-47, haven't tested it lately.
