That's impressive and I believe it. On my way home from California in '04 I found myself in the middle of nowhere and running low on gas. According to my map, the closest town was 30 miles away but I managed to get the bike there with the low fuel light on the entire time. I had traveled 265 miles since my last fill and it took 4.8 gallons to top off the tank...roughly 55 m.p.g.

I'm getting about 40 with 900 miles and a large windsheild on the Deluxe. Expect it to get better as it breaks in a bit more.

Congrats, that's great, especially two up.
Wind, weight, riding nice, up hill, down hill, windshield, tire pressure, octane all adds up.
Remember what you did so you can keep it up.
I'm in the low 40's with some mods to the motor, but i don't ride nicely so it's what i would expect.

30.35 mpg give or take 0.25, but I tend to twist the throttle. If you're tuned, that takes away from my question if it's lean. That's good mileage.

I get about 42-43 ave on my 2001 Heritage, carbed.

My wife got 45 on her first tank fillup with her 2000 Dyna Convertable, carbed.

Beats the hell out of the 15-16 I get in the F150.
