Default Insurance

I am having a bad experience with insurance right now, not my bike thank god. I hit a rock in the road and it put a hole in my transmission pan, the insurance company will only put a wrecking yard transmission back in it. This is a new one to me, but i have checked around at different companies and this is fast becoming a standard so far the only one who does not use wrecking yard parts is allstate. state farm, progressive, and esurance will make you use wrecking yard parts to fix your vehicle. you may want to check your fine print on this just a heads up.

How do ya think those dudes pay for all of those d@mn TV ads that they run 5 times every time there is a break in the programming? By using JUNK parts to fix ya ride, that's how!

And I will tell you Will how they pay for the adds. Us guy that ride for years and do not have a claim. Knock on wood but that's where the $ is. I pay $160 a year, full coverage. I've not layed one down in 15 years, and I hope to keep my record going for another 15 years..!!

They use what is called "functionally equivalent parts" otherwise known as Crash Aftermarket parts. That sounds worse than it really is. They are parts from vehicles that were wrecked but those parts were not damanged. For example you rear end some one and smash up your front fender. They can use your rear fender as it's still good. These parts are inspected and of "like kind and quality" It's not like they are giving you a dented fender.

Common misconception with insurance is that you get something NEW. Insurance is to make you whole again. Unless you had a new bumper to begin with they are fulfilling there obligation. Now if you have a car that is less than 3 years old you can get OEM parts.
