Used Bike prices falling?
#11
Even in Texas bike sales fall off during the late fall and early winter months. And so far this fall riding season, that I've been counting on all during the long hot summer, is pretty much a bust too! Can not be too good for the sales of any age of bike I would guess.

Tried to trade my '08 Ultra 105th Anniversary for a 2010 Tri Glide this past Spring. Dealer offered me $16,000 on a bike I paid $23,600 for less than a year earlier. I suppose the good side is that he has some really nice used bikes on the floor with good prices. I'm glad now that he offered me so little as I'm hearing the 2010's have some real heat issues.

Used bike prices
I always buy a new bike in december or January and understand "seasonal sales" . I've owned a few scooters in the past 35 years but never seen such a poor market for harleys.
My 08 was gonna be my last HD but just "want"-gotta have" the new frame on 09-10's darn nice ride!
That said anybody in the market for a 08 FLHX with @ 3,800 miles. Luggage rack, cruise, sissy bar, stage 1 download & AC rush slip ons with 1.75 baffle, wing LED lights on top of bags LED tail light. no ABS
Excellent care looks new, paid for, just ride up to the mountains when I have the F@#K time. Take $15,300 cash. That is @ 6K less than what it would cost for a new SG Sitting in Lubbock, Texas

People have been living beyond their monetary means for twelve years now. The economy is in the toilet where it will stay for years to come. All this debt will have to be paid or the losses absorbed before we as a country will see any sort of recovery. You cant mop up twelve years in twelve months. Its going to get much worse. Sorry its a fact. Expect prices on used bikes to continue to drop.
