Do you have pegs or boards? Pegs, but they are the larger variety and she wears a small shoe. She's only 4'10" and 95 pounds soaking wet which works well for a Sporster.

How many miles do you and the misses have under your belts (or should I say bottoms)? I run year round and have 20,000 on the speedo of the Sportster and probably done three times that in the last 8 years. We have never done more than 7 hours riding in a day together.

I have a 2004 1200 sportster, and was able to do 1400+ miles in 2 days on a trip down to the tail of the dragon, the trick is to ride fast 80mph or above will give you a break almost every 2hrs for gas and makes the trip bearable, by the time i got home I could have gone longer I thought it would have been worse, I am not sure about riding 2 up like this though that could be a different story

That really only works with a windshield.
Before I got a windshield I tried that and I just got worn out quicker.

Once I got a windshield I could do whatever.

I cannot see how you could pack enough stuff for two people on a sporty...

I have the feeling that you want this more than her so she might be pissed at hour 8.

Other options:
1. She following in the rig.
2. She flys out and meets you there
3. Find others you know heading out and double up. she rides in the rig with someone else while you and the others ride.

First day 800 miles = nucking futs. Second day another 800 miles = hurting for the rest of your life. Doing it all again a few days later = back and *** surgery.

"To become Oldt N Wise, one must FIRST be,

Young N Dummmmm. "

July 3,4,5 and 6, 1971(19 yrs old), Norfolk, Va (USS Kennedy) to Madison, So. Dak. Li'l over 24 hrs, on a '71 Honda CB450. Turn 'round, go back.

Going across Pa in the middle of the night, FREEZE going thru the 'low spots'.
Ran acrossed Ill and Iowa, in the 'heat' of the day, got sun and wind burned like a grilled steak.
Do it with a 'built in' "BEOTCH'N" mow-sheen??? Aint gonna happen.

You will make it, just not sure, how much fun, you're gonna have, once ya git there, tho. BUT, JMFUO, as "ooze-ual"

PLEASE NOTE: NEVER did it, AGAIN!!!!!!

Jus' an FYI, it's about 750 to Sturgis/Rapid. Do it in 12, on a scoot, on OR off, the "SLAB". And could do it on a Sporty, no prob. It's literally, "YOUR Azz!!!" Bwahaha

Wife got a little irritated when I said I didn't think she could make it and fired back with she needs to find a biker to ride up with that does have faith in her.

Guess it is a go, gotta talk to the boss about a couple extra days off.

Is it safe to go without reservations or is Sturgis booked up?

It's not booked up right now, but it won't take long to fill up once they start taking reservations for it.

IF she REALLY wants to be "biker" about it, take a couple of bed rolls. Then you won't have to have any reservations at all. Just sleep where you stop.
