Slip Ons
My previous bike was an 01 Road King, where I purchased SE mufflers before taking delivery. I later replaced the entire stock exhaust system with Bassani Power Curve and high flow Bassani mufflers.
I now have a new bike (09 ultra) and I am doing my homework on various mufflers to replace the stock ones. Does anyone know how screaming eagle mufflers compare with bassani, V&H, rinehart etc mufflers?

Well, I lost power with the SE's and they were too quiet for me, about a 4 on a 1-10. The V&H Classics I feel gave me a little more power than stock and they are about a 7. I do have the SE air kit and Fuelpak and that changes the sound alot.

Compared to the others you listed, the SE's will be whisper quiet, but a little louder than stock. The Moco still has to meet EPA noise levels, "racing" exhausts do not. The SE's don't flow much more air than stock, so I doubt there is much of a performance difference.

One of my "the usual suspects" riding buddies has Screamin' Eagles on his Ultra & I'm not crazy about them. I have Rush Slashdown slip-ons with 2.5 baffles on my EG Classic & like them. Slip-ons are also the cheapest way out. We were out for a cruise last week, stopped for a break, and a guy rode in on an Ultra with those black-end Rineharts on. They were True Duals, and man did they sound good. Now I'm jealous! True Duals (full-system exhaust) will be alot more money, but I'm gonna have to think pretty seriously about them. They sounded great. Like I said though, for the cheapest way out --- slip-ons. I like my Rush with 2.5 baffles. (If it's nice where you live, go to a dealer on a Saturday morning, find something you like, and ask the owner what they are. That way you'll find something that YOU like and you don't have to make a decision from opinions on a forum!)
