6°F this morning for the ride in! Yeah! Wow.....that'll sure wake you up.

Roads were clear, so I thought, 'Why not?'

Wheew Damn. Did they have to chisel you off the bike? You have a heated suit? That's a bit too chili for me. My wife don't like anything below 50. I'm about a 40 degree at least kinda guy. Maybe I need a heated suit.

A wild and crazy guy! By the way, do you use heated gear?

Yeah! (a ride like that'll wake you up more than coffee!)

I just wore my SmartWool base layer under my jeans, my regular riding jacket (but I'm wearing a wool sweater under it), and ski gloves. Nothing electric. Oh, and a full-face. My breath was freezing inside the visor a little. Just had to crack it open every once and again.

I did forget my neck gaiter, tho....... that won't happen again!

6° is really starting to get chilly. Anything below 20° kind of takes the fun out of riding. This past winter, my wife decided she's not having much fun @ 15°... but she plans on snagging some heated gear this year. I let her wear my gloves a couple of time, and it really changed her mind about the cost vs. comfort factor.

Still Syn3 20W50. Winter came in early and quickly--haven't changed it, and prolly won't for a while. Supposed to get back into the 50s later this week.

I just let it warm up a good 10 minutes.

Well, in Montana you learn to have fun outside no matter what it's doing out there. Having the right gear helps. My skiing stuff is warm, light, wind/waterproof, and not bulky at all, better than the motorcycle-specific stuff, IMO. Maybe your wife would enjoy it better with that kind of stuff.

About 35* when I rode in this morning in lower NY. It felt like 6*! Burrrrr. I'll be taking a nice Columbus Day ride around 12 with a buddy. Nice

My hats off to you faber. That's a cold ride. 25 to 30 is about as low as I go, and that's with my heated gloves.

I didn't see how far your ride was. I only can guess it was not very far with out electric stuff.
