made a mistake yesterday...
Soo.... decided to goof off instead of working yesterday. My brain is starting to get a little crispy at work.
Drove down to Charlotte with a friend so we could goof off at Bass Pro. Well.... If you turn left you get to Bass Pro... If you go right there is Speedway Harley. We went to Speedway first. =) That place is just frikking HUGE.
So... walked around and looked at all the bikes. Here is the mistake... I sat on a Street Glide. Holy Crap that thing is comfortable. I would be afraid of riding the thing because it feels like you could fall asleep in that saddle!
I was thinking that my "next bike" was going to be a Road King.... Now I got to see this Street Glide up close.
DAMMIT! The Harley Gods are mocking me.
I am not in the position to buy another Harley anytime soon (unless Powerball pays out) but has anyone else debated over the Street Glide Vs. Road King? Or are they just way too different from eachother? The salesman said the Street Glide was more like the Ultra. Since I have no touring bike experience I really have no clue. I did sit on another Road King there and it was comfortable as well. The BIG difference to me seemed to just be the fairing.

I have a 2006 RK Standard I'm very happy with. My buddy bought a 2006 Street Glide. Both bikes are pretty awesome. When I purchased my bike it was between the RK and the Electra Glide Standard. The difference for me was the RK had alot more chrome on it and I was not ready to move up to a fairing. They are all three cool bikes. I live in Greenville NC and went to Ray Price in Raleigh on a Friday when they were having a customer appreciation day. I was able to ride all the Harleys from a V-Rod to the Electra Glide Standard. I rode about 8 bikes. The thing is they all ride a little different. You may think you want a certain model but then you ride it and it just does not "feel" right. I have not been to the Dealer in Charlotte yet. I have been to the HD in Smithfield at the Outlet Mall that's a pretty kewl place.

The one thing that "scared" me about Speedway is that NONE of the bikes had price tags on them... Never a good sign. At least at Ray Price they have them all tagged and typically they have a break down of what everything on it costs.
The tank on my fatboy is supposed to be replaced this month so I am getting a RK for a loaner while they have my bike. Maybe I should see if they have a street glide loaner.... =)

I went through the BASS PRO SHOP in Denver Colorado before visiting MILE HIGH HARLEY. I was pretty tired by the time I got to the Harley Dealer and felt like I had gotten a shot of adrenalin when I walked through the door and saw all of those awesome machines.
Those that haven't had a chance to stop at MILE HIGH HARLEY, you don't know what you're missing.
