Bad Harley Expierince. What's your take on it?

I do believe that the 1K inspection calls for a check for proper torque of the critical fasteners. The front brake caliper mounting bolts is on the critical fastener list. The dealership is responsible for the service mishap. A negative response from the dealership would lead me to call the MOCO for further assistance.

MoCo = Harley Davidson Motor Co.
And make them fix it,an oversite on there part ,because as you well know a loose caliper bolt could lead to death or serious injury.
Unbelievable!

This is not the MOCO but some Hick service manager in podunk Mississippi. I knew I left there for a reason.

I am glad that you did not get injured! Physically!! Hopefully the shop will do the right thing, I have had a few run ins with a dealer here in Alaska and started to hate on everyone that was a part of the shop! This was wrong on my part due to my meeting some very good folks that treat my bike like their own! Good luck....

I too would be going to upper management at the dealership with my receipt in hand & a copy of the 1000 mile service criteria which states brakes & critical fasteners. If he isn't embarrased for the poor service his dealership performed & cover ALL COSTS associated with this disaster my next step would be to contact the MoCo. If you don't get resolution there, I would be contacting an attorney. As mentioned earlier, you could have easily been a statistic! Don't let them get away with this! Good luck.

It's not the MoCo, Schu, it is the dealer. It is not only part of the mainteance schedule to check brakes and fasteners but part of the prep for a new bike, which is done by the dealer. Something like this happens it will go back on the dealer. And if he had gotten hurt I thinlk he would own that dealership.
