Modified rain gear
This past weekend me and a friend and his gf rode up to Salisbury NC for thre Horse Smoke out VII. We had a GREAT time there but the ride up and back was a LOT less than fun!Rained on us on the way up from my driveway west of Atlanta all the way to Spartanburg SC! While riding through the storms I found out the diference between cheap rain gear and pricey rain gear! My Wal-mart 24$ rain jacket had a small blow out that by the time we arrived at our hotel became a large blow out. I tossed it in the trash when we got there. BAD IDEA! Well while distracted by awesome bikes and lovely ladies exposing themselves I neglected to get a new suit before returning home. Sunday we left Salisbury and rode north so as to ride a while on the blue ridge pkwy. The weather was awesome.....for a while. Then the skies opened and guess who only had rain PANTS?! We limped and shivered down from the mountains and wound up in a VERY small town called Linden NC I think. While there we ate and devised a plan. Since there werent any Wal-marts, lowes or home depots in Linden we went to the local drug store and bought a poncho and duct tape. Then we talked a very nice lady at the convenience store out of a pair of trash bags and went to work. What you see below is the result. It made it all the way to Tocoa GA before it ripped at the neck and became like a parachute and tried to lift me off the bike. Good times!
