if you're traveling and want to know where the dealerships are.... they are very handy.... if you need detailed road to road data..... not so much.
Delorme and ADC both make great state road atlas'

I consider myself a mapaholic. The HD atlas is nice in the hard type cover but could have larger print and more detail like others have said. Same goes for their conquest GPS. They do of course provide good info on dealers.

My wife got me one a couple of years ago, nice but a little heavy on "Harley" ads. Also it is just plain a heavy, too much to carry. Small print or old eyes or both, but there are other maps that are really better.

My gps has all the dealers in north america preloaded....so if i need one, it's easy to find.

I still carry the HD map book but i usually refer to my State or Province maps...i carry each individual state map where ever i am going.....they have more detail....but the HD book has quick reference to the harley dealers from my point A to B each day......

They are will worth the price. On our Alaska trip they had far more detail on lesser roads than the Mile Post book did. The Mile Post is supposed to be the bible for the trip. The HD book was hugely superior.
