I avoid gas from a station where the tanker truck is offloading... Maybe I'm paranoid, but I can imagine all of the sediments and crap being swirled off the bottom of the station's tank.

I've bought bad gas and the bike will run like crap. Mine has usually come from rural stations where people don't own cars requiring higher octane and their premium gets little turnover.

I knew a guy several years ago that ran an FBO at the local airport. He got a bad load of jet fuel once and would not accept it. (its checked for water and impurities before its unloaded.) They took it down to a local gas station and mixed it with their regular gas. The comment made was- it will mix with the gas and no one will ever know the difference. Problem is - it works pretty good in an eight cyclinder car but not worth a crap in a two cylinder motorcycle!! I've had bad gas twice before- never as bad as you but bad enough that I could barely keep it running!

I carry octane booster with me at all times, and if i'm forcrd to gas up in a small Mom and Pop gas station out in the country I use it and the lower octane fuel. Even if they have the "good" stuff, it's likely old and messed up. .................. Learned this the HARD way too!
