Ruined gloves...what happened and how to fix?

Slather a bit of Dawn on them and toss them in the washer with a load of clothes. When done turn them insiode out and do it again. let them air dri might take several days. Use a little mink oil on them when done and let them air dry for a couple of more days. Go easy on the mink oil a little goes a long way. I would not recomend putting them in the dryewr *** additional heat tends to stiffen and dry out leather. You want to clean them and restore the natural oils in them. I have done this several times in the past with buckskin as well as cowhide and have great results. Be patient it may take several weeks to get the mink ooil to soak in and not leave them tacky. Best thing is to use them, the heat from your hands will help the oil absorb and the excess moisture to dry out.

It's okay to wash electronics - just as long as you don't let any smoke out after washing them.
I have it from a good source, that smoke is what make them operate. If you see the smoke go (normally after a good soaking) they will no longer work and you cannot put the smoke back in.

Interesting replies, to say the least.. I wanted at first to say or think I done something wrong with my gloves, but I must admit the neighbor guy who shares my garage is more than a little bit.... STRANGE....only way I can put it.
But c'mon I been here for like four years and he's never touched any of my gear nor my bikes to date...
Blech.. I can get new gloves. Forget I ever asked. I think I'd feel much better with new gloves, now.
