You really should look at leather overpants instead of chaps. They protect alot more and come off just as easy as chaps. Let my dad borrow mine on his trip last week and now he is looking for some. Fox creek looks really nice. I want to try leatherup but afraid of the quality i would get for the price.

Pops, I see you're a fellow Heeler fan. I put my best friend of 8 years to sleep a couple of years ago and I'll never be the same. Dodger

leather up easy fit, if you legs like tree trunks like I do, you'll love them! Weight was never really a concern for me since I live in Tx and dont need them to often, it was more about the fit around my legs.

I've bought a lot of stuff from these guys, www.hudsonleather.com .

Now I have a leather shop just down the road. Like someone else said, this is a good option if you can find one near you. They make them to fit, your choices of leather, lining, etc. and range from around $100 for pretty basic to about $150 for lined w/pockets, braiding, whatever.

Leatherup gives you 30 days to return them with NO restocking fee if you don't like them. Not much to loose.

I forgot to mention that the custom saddle shop biker chaps (7oz) are a flat black while most chaps I've seen are glossy. Most jackets are glossy so it might look goofy....

leather cost is tied to the grade of the leather and usually passed on. So good leather products cost more than the lesses grades.
