gear oil/tranny oil
are they the same thing? I'm thinking about going with a heavier lube in the tranny

I switched over to Mobil 1 Syn. 75-90 in the tranny and Mobil 1 V-twin 20-50 in the motor. My bike shifts a lot easier and is less noisy with the Mobil in the tranny. There are several good syn. gear oils out there, but Mobil 1 is the only one I can buy locally.

Agree with harvo. Use the Mobile 1 75w-90 in tranny and primary.
