Ride rituals

First I have to light the candles, then grab the bowl and cigar, light the cigar , grab the chicken and kill it . drain the blood into the bowl. While chanting the words.. "oh great motorcycle protector of all. I give you this gift in the knowing that you will keep me from harm .. and if you could don't let any ricers come racing by me" ....... after that I get on the motorcycle and ride away.

lol you can watch some funny things and interesting things.
You really want to see some crazy stuff take a ride down to your local lake during the summer and watch people putting boats in and out of the water. I used to run fishing tournaments and boat alot boy you want to talk about some entertaiinment.

An old riding buddy of mine had a cigarette lighter mounted next to the petcock under the gas tank.Every time we were riding and stopped at a ginmill for a drink,he would pull up,stop the bike turn it off and light a cigarette.Take off the helmet and then get off the bike.
I used to laugh at the ritual and we hit so many bars one night he forgot to put the kickstand down, but he got the cigarette lit.

I put 11,000 miles on my Ultra this season and so I fell into a regular routine dismounting and stowing the gear. I recently traded it for a new Softail, no saddle bags. Now I get off, walk to the back, wonder where to put the helmet or maybe just toss it, walk back up to the front and fiddle with the fork bag, try to fit what I can in my pockets etc.
The softail feels so much lighter than the Ultra too, so I also keep looking back wondering if someone could just pick it up and walk off with it.

I, to this day don't know how its supposed to "damage" anything
as for my routine, stumble out the door get bike out of garage, if I was lazy the night before, I back it out, otherwise push it out, start it, put my backpack on, Osh!t its 40 out, forgot to put my sweatshirt on, is it in the garage, damm!t I locked the garage already, unlock the garage, nope I must have left it in the house last night..............
you get the picture
It definitely was easier with saddle bags
