Default Best time to buy a harley?

Is there a time of year that is a better to buy? More for trade in, $$ off etc...
Has anyone thought of buying, then went back at a later time and get a better offer? Just wondering.....

I can't give general rules, but in 07 I can say that Mass dealers would skip the freight and setup charges January through March on new bikes. A few would give some money off the MSRP on 06 bikes in that time frame as well as toss in freight and setup. (I'm talking about $1,000 -- not a huge percentage.) After March, the only deals were on used bikes. As for what's happening now -- I dunno. I got my bike and stopped looking.

Finish filling out the "Location" info in your profile, alot depends on what part of the country your in. Generally speaking, if you live where it's cold, Fall & Winter is the best time to buy.

I always found that buying right before the new year's model is introduced saves you Big $$$. You have to ask the dealership when the new models arrive, then go a few days before to look around. Worked for me! After months of looking, the dealership suddenly was willing to negotiate on a bike. I bought it on a Friday. The new models arrived the next day. Go figure!

A low milage used would be the best deal as you can't give bikes away right now with this economy, I got mine for thousand less than a couple years ago

I think this is a good time to buy a bike. Many dealers are actually negotiating. Waiting you run the risk that prices will rise because the economy improves, orHD's cutback in production reduces supply.

+1. A friend of my dad has a small custom dealership that sells used Harleys that he accepts as trade ins. He says that there are at least 10 bikes for every one customer out there right now. He brings the price way down if someone is serious about taking it off his floor.

Right now, end of quarter, if you find a left over '09 on the floor.
Northern states end of December is good.
