Don't get lazy about pre-ride inspections!

yup.. My friend James was complaining to me about his Nightster having a wobble.. I went over there did a visual inspection. I didn't see anything wrong. Sat on the bike and went OMG. got off checked the front tire pressure.. 12 pounds. aired it up and no more wobble.. I told him to keep an eye on it because it could have a small leak of some kind.

Glad you made it back in safely on that one Nitro. You are one very lucky guy and it sounds like lesson learned.

Because you can not take care of your toys. I am giving them to your brother.
I am sorry, but that is inexcusable. I always look at the tires before getting on. You can not say that you were not aware of the condition of your tires before you went on your twisty ride.

The weird thing is that I'm adamant about changing my fluids, checking critical fasteners and other routine maintenance. I really can't explain why I went so long without checking the rear tire. The rear fender does make it hard to just glance and check, but that's no excuse. Like I said, I have no excuse for letting it go that far. Stupidity is my only explanation.
One thing for sure, after seeing this, it won't happen again.

I have my bike up in the air on a lift at least 2x's a month and every time before a long ride to inspect every inch of the tires for anything abnormal. **** with a tire like that your lucky you didn't go down on a wet rode long before you found it.
