Default Helmet Help!

I need advice from those mostly using half helmets. Most of the years of my riding was done with no helmet. However, now that I am a little older ,and I hope wiser, I am looking for a good half helmet. I have borrowed a friends but wasnt very happy with it ,sorry I cant remember the name but I dont think it was a very good one. It seemed that it acted like a parachute being ripped off head. If i tightened it down then it felt like it was burrowing into my forehead by the wind. I didnt really want o go the 3/4 helmet route, I cant seem to find any that look decent on me, without making me look like Dukakis in the tank! I dont like full-face, did that when I had a crotch rocket.
Any help, or advice for a good brand would be helpful. Hopefully something that isnt too bulky, that makes your head look like a *****.
And I dont want to go for the skull cap route either, I want it to work if I ever need it.

Helmets are much like slippers. You have to find the one that fits you just right. There are so many to choose from. What's good for one person is notsogood for the next guy.

Personally, I think, lighter is better for a generalized opinion but stick with DOT or SNELL rated helmets. I am looking into something much lighter than what I have already.

I read this somewhere on this forum.

Helmets are like condoms. You know you should wear one but it's so much better when you don't.

Ordered these from shade tree motor sports. I don't ususlly order helmets but I have an odd shaped head and have to re-do the foam anyway. DOT approved. Spikes were $30 bucks for 15 from the internet. Oh, I'm 61, not a kid!

The Fulmer Hombre is a great helmet. I have had crash with one and bought a new one afterwards...if that is any indication of how it performed when it was supposed to.

Skid Lid. no parachuting here, but then my fairing may have something to do with that. I order it from J&P Cycles.
