Why Not a 110 in all Big Twins?

What are you getting at? That MoCo should put the most powerful engine in all its bikes, or that they should standardize on one powerplant. Standardization for the sake of ease of maintenance is foolish. If MoCo did that, pretty soon all their motorcycles would look the same, year after year. Who'd buy into THAT marketing scheme?

I'm perfectly happy with my reliable 88"
It's enough power...all I need and care to have.
Don't need no fancy shamanchy 110.
But I have heard the Victory motors are kick azz.

Hell I'm still more than fine with the EVO she came with !
"Evolution engines - Manufactured between 1984 and 1999. Displacement is 81.8 cubic inches (1,340 cc), and the engine produces 70 horsepower. Although the Evolution 1340cc is no longer in production, the Sportster® model line of motorcycles receives Evolution engines with 883 cc and 1200 cc displacements (manufactured 1986 to present). "
If'n I was trying to make the Power Rangers cry...........

Ive always felt HD was conservative with their cruiser engine designs. They dont make big moves in CID very often, and they run the same engine for many years at a time. I sometimes think this conservatism is why fixes can be slow in coming.
I do think they should move away from the CVO concept. Its not really a custom bike, who are they fooling? I do like them, having ridden several, but I mean come on....What I would replace it with are option packages like you see when you are buying a car or truck. Different engines, trannys, wheels, exhaust, etc. right from the get-go.

The reason why I called it Mild Custom was that my bike's mostly in a stock form and converted into mild with Arlen Ness Drag Bars, Teardrop Mirrors, Handgrips, Rear Turn lights, Turned-up License Plate, Aftermarket rear fender, and low profile LePera seat. Here's a few pixs you'd like to see.
Not sure about Heavy Custom...You know everyone's entitled to their opinion...No offense pun intended though. IMO, It would be converted to rigid frame, new radical paint, chain drive instead of belt drive and modified motor.

More displacement helps if there is no change in design, to a point. The 110 is proof. It is just a bored and stroked 96 (88). And with the reduction of thermal mass like that, uneven and inconsistent heating will occur, which leads to all kinds of other failures. The 103 seems to be the limit.
There are other two-cylinder air-cooled bikes motors out there that are smaller displacement and rival the 110 in power and torque.
IF HD were to replace the TC96, and it will someday, I'd like to see a smarter design, not just a larger one.
