Is this really that hard to understand? It simple to figure out.
He evidently parked the bike with the bars turned to the right. That would've made the bike want to tip in the other direction of the kickstand. When the bike tipped over the barend hit first, the steering was at full lock to the right and the handlebar assembly twisted from the weight. In which some part of the controls smacked the tank. His handlebars are trash and need replaced in which he is doing. $100 spent at the paintless repair and your done.
Your forks are fine.
