Waiting and looking some more isn't a bad idea. Doesn't sound like too bad a deal. I think some of the responders are thinking standard Super Glide and not the Custom. The nice part is someone else already paid for the upgrades most would do to a new bike, and with under 7K miles it's still like new provided it was well cared for.
The new paint job portion causes me some hesitation though. Why?

go for the big twin!!! I mean, if a sporty is what you want to start out - more power to you man, but i lost money on that deal. I wanted a bigger bike after 6 months of riding. So, i took a hit and bought the big twin.
Just my 2 cent

I would go for the big twin, but I'm not the one spending the $$$. Chop him down to under 10K and do the deal.................. Or not.

Sounds like a nice bike. However I wouldn't paint it becuase you may only keep it a year or 2. Plus, I wouldn't drop $10k on something I'm not sure I like as is. That's a lot fo money if you are unsure

wow. I didn't now you could have numbers in metric and american at the same time..

I agree. Why spend this much for a project bike. Use the money you'd spend on paint to buy a new bike.

That's no deal! The damn thing sold new for a tad over that ($12699). And it needs painted? Run from that deal. Oh, forget about the sporty idea too, in 2 months you'll be wanting a bigger bike. I had an '08 Super Glide Custom and there isn't a day that goes by I don't wish I had it back, it was a great machine. I had $4000 in extras on it and the dealer I traded it in at sold it for $11,500, not a spot on it either.
