Default RESPECT & MC Clubs...I'll Show Ya Mine, You Show Me Yours...

Am I the only one who sees the irony in the emphasis on RESPECT with regard to MC Clubs and the obvious ACTUAL emphasis on SUBMISSION, especially with treatment of "prospectors"? I can understand the need to get to "know" who you let into any given organization and it's probably even MORE important in a MC Club due to the dangerous nature of what we do, but praytell WHAT does driving 200 miles in the middle of the night to pick up a "brothers" broke down bike, or changing the oil in the King Pubah's scooter have to say about RESPECT? Looks (from the outside, naturally) to me that once a guy proves his total submission to the group and it's leadership structure, he's in. I'd think one would gain more RESPECT by telling them where to get off when some of these inane requests are made. Please don't confuse this with the idea that "giving respect begats respect" when encountering strangers of ANY station in life (1%ers, political party bosses, or the guy who sacks your groceries). I'm just trying to understand what I see as obvious contradictions in the dynamics of these groups. Of course...I could be wrong

I believe this is where:
"IF I have to explain, you wouldn't understand", comes into play. BUT as "ooze-ual", JMFUO.

BUT, this is a "Pubic" FORUM, and as such, you are entitled to your opinion, even if it is ALL fooked up. Bwahahahaha J/K TCG, J/K

NOW, git me a coffee, DAMM IT, Prospect, OOPS, Hang 'round !!!!
And a lot o' RESPECT will go a li'l ways. (OR something like that.)

What you are describing is more than respect, it is called LOYALTY. When it comes down to respect, I can respect most anyone until you prove you deserve otherwise. As far as loyalty goes, I can probably count on one hand how many people I am loyal to.

Excellent point, although that's the first time I've read/seen the word "Loyalty" used. I suppose the military uses similar tactics to build "loyalty", but somehow I don't think of MC Clubs as being "militaristic" organizations. As I said earlier though...I could be wrong...
