Default Crack on Windshield

I bought this windscreen from my local HD dealer about 2 months ago. I just noticed a few days ago this crack on the screen. As far as I can tell it looks like it started from under the metal frame as there is no chip on the front side of the screen. Should I take it back to the dealer and see if I can get a new one.

Its worth a shot.

Best case scenario: They replace it.

Worst case: They say no.

Its should still covered by the 90 day warranty.

If they installed it you got a shot...if you did they are going to tell you you got the mounting bolt too tight & cracked it

Or they're gonna say No and that it could have happened from some type of impact on the road.

Usually that type of crack occurs from overtightening to trim screws, not from an impact.
I doubt they'll give you any warranty on that. But, its always worth a try. Good luck.

Let's see, take the wimpshield in for a 'warranty' crack, or fart in a "mild" South Dakota "breeze" (that's 40 mph + ) and try to smell it???

Guess I'll go with the "fart", chances are better, I believe. j/k

Really. Have no idea What they'll say. IF they installed it, maybe.

GOOD LUCK, tho. For chits n giggles, let us know WTH they said, could ya ???

If it was the money I spent, the "wimpsheild" would be sitting on the parts counter the next day.

You might have a better crack at it since the frame was installed already!

Default New Windshield covered under warranty

Update on cracked wind screen. I drove down to HD of Dothan here in Alabama and went inside to inquire about warranty on the windshield. Very helpful service department they have, the Gentleman helping me went outside to take a look at it and agreed that it looked like a crack due to the bolt being tightened to tight at the factory.

Back in the store I go they put the windshield together for me on the counter I go and grab the old one off the bike and even steven swap out!! I slap on the windshield tighten the four bolts down on the quick release levers and call it good. Give them their wrench back jump on the scoot and I'm off for a nice afternoon ride. Took all of 20 minutes. HD of Dothan is right on HWY 231, if you are heading south on this road to Panama City this weekend you will run right by the store. Good people and have always given me good service.
