27F this morning and I rode. Started wearing the heated jacket liner this week. I'll ride whenever the roads are free of snow and ice. Last year the only month that I didn't ride even one day was February...BTW, I'm in western Canada, about an hour away from the Rocky mountains

Ride to work when it isn't raining when I leave, then I'll puss out and take the cage. Don't mind getting stuck in the rain, but don't like to leave knowing I'm getting wet. Just picked up a new commuter, a 1978 Yamaha SR500 thumper, kick start only. 60+ mpg and flashbacks to highschool days...

Texas------Ride Ride Ride. In Texas we have 2 seasons to ride in. Hot and Hotter.
If you can't tolerate our two riding seasons we'll try and educate ya!!!! If not, you can always move to a cooler climate. We ride 365, there's no winterizing our rides.

I winterize every year. I put on my winter coat of wax. It is thicker then my summer coat of wax.

I ride to work every day. I ride everywhere. I'll switch to the cage if it's pouring in the morning, cause I don't want to arrive at work wet. I have some make shift rain gear, like ski pants, but they don't work that well. I also don't like going through rush hour traffic in the rain, as it's, well... you know what I mean.
My bike is insured til December and I'll push it right to the end, then I'll get permits for sunny dry weekend rides.
Plain and simple... I can't get off the dang thing!

I ride to work everyday as long as it isn't raining when it is time to go to work,or if it is a good chance for all day long. I have riden home in the rain a lot due to the unpredictable weather here in Mississippi. Hmmmm I guess I need to see if my truck will start, havent used it in over a month.

Less than 1-1/2 miles to work. So since I've heard it's not good to ride the bike such short distances and then let it sit, when the weather is good and I have the extra time, I ride and take the long way around. But it's not a pretty ride and it's still only 6 to 8 miles. Sometimes I just get going too late in the cold weather it just takes too long to get all bundled up for such a short, not very nice ride. When I had a 14 mile commute through pretty country, I rode to/from work much, much more. But I wont ride when there is any hint of ice on the road. In fact, I pretty much stop riding once it gets to the point I am bundled up like the Michelin Man. I can't even turn my body to see what's coming when I am at an intersection, so don't think that's too safe. And I can't afford heated gear right now. Maybe next year?
