Article says the SUV in front of the bikes slammed on the brakes. That sob needs to be skinned and left out to dry. That has always been one of my concerns when someone decides that all bikers are trash and they are going to mess with them.

Just happened to me in June! Guy stopped in a blind curve on a two lane road cause he thought the phone truck was coming into his lane. I could either hit him or lay it down! Phone truck was in my escape path. Guy wasn't a local. I figured he was trying to **** with me till I saw the remorse in his eyes! That was my thought as I was layin' it down. Would've punched him if I wasn't hurtin' so bad. Got my ripped open knee, broken ribs & collarbone back on the sled and headed home.

Accidents such as this one are the reason that I won't allow ANYONE to ride beside me. The lane is MINE, and in an emergancy I might need the entire lane to protect myself.

I ride in groups of up to 20 with no problems, but its ALWAYS a staggered formation so that each rider has the full lane to manuver if needed.

Damned shame that so many bikes were involved in this one. No matter how well you ride, being too close is dangerous.

Hope that they are all ok...hate seeing anyone go down.
