GPS Plug In Question
Can a GPS that plugs into a car cigarette lighter, work on my 09 RKC? I do not have a cig charger.Would I need to get a kit to power up the GPS? What GPS has XM??

Nothing wrong with that. Usually the only differences between those and the systems made for motorcycles is that the latter have bigger buttons (for pressing with gloves on) and are waterproof. Once upon a time vibration was said to be a problem, but the units seem to have improved to where that is no longer an issue.
I'm presently running a Nuvi 765T on my Heritage Classic. When it rains, which is rare around here but it does happen, I simply zip a zip-lock baggie around it and all is well. I also have a RAM mount for my iPhone (used for music and nav, but not for calls when I'm riding). I recently downloaded GPS software for it (Navigon) and am testing it out. So far, it looks like it's nearly as good as the dedicated Nuvi. I power both with a cigarette lighter plug, using the Nuvi's or the iPhone's car chargers. Never had a problem yet.

I'm using the Garmin Zumo 550 hard wired to the battery. I also have the XM antennae (receiver) which costs an unbelievable $200 extra. Ran a headphone jack extension cable down to the tank pouch where I plug in the ear buds. Say what you want, but it's nice to have music and hear the navigation instructions on long rides.

I use my Garmin Nuvi between my truck and my bike. As I don't use it for long periods on the bike I just run it in battery mode. I could plug it into a cig lighter adapter on the bike if needed. Works great and I can even hear the audio directions.

I use a Garmin 760 on my Ultra. No issues. Not waterproof but a sandwhich bag takes care of that. Operation with glove is not an issue either.I power it with powerlet wired to my battery. I made short a plug adapter maybe 10" because the one that comes with the unit is very long and has a FM receiver in it.
