I switch between a HD half, HD 3/4 with shield, and a HJC FF modular depending on the temperature. I hate the FF, but it is warmer.

I can't get beyond the closterfobia? Everything about them is o.k. Face protection, warmth, annd quiet. But I've tried them all and I just don't like.

I have a cheap full face helmet that I bought for when I first started riding. Just some $100 DOT certified that I found at the local Honda dealer (have to go in there for my jetski's!) Works ok, but it's a little heavy. I don't wear it too often. I have a HD half helmet (that black satin), it's pretty nice too.

The main difference between a $100 helmet and a $300 (or higher), isn't necessarily the protection it offers (and I've seen Snell cert helmets for about $150). What you get for the higher price typically is lighter, more aerodynamic, and better ventilation. That's been my experience at least.

Read all the write ups on this from google and it looks good but it's VERY expensive.
