I think alot of us are starting to lean that way.

 

Like everything, "you get what you pay for".
I own a Simpson Outlaw and a Simpson Shortie.
I use the Shortie around town, but I won't go out of town without the Outlaw.
It's pricey at $420.00, but it's feather light and by far the most aerodynamically user friendly helmet you can buy. At any speed, it remains perfectly still, while ventilating your head nicely at any temp.
You guys won't believe how comfortable a full face can be.

 

Full face=better protection? YES

Full Face = HOT and look like DOOFUS? YES

most full face helmet are vented extremely well i own a full face from harley cool road hog logo well vented i ride in south mississippi 90+ heat and ill tell ya its not hot at all like others have said i think it keeps the heat away from your head i also wear a skull cap with a moisture wicking properties it helps alot, and if it does get too hot i flip the eye sheild up about 1/4" and man the ventalation its like a/c. and your right much safer just in case ya have to use it. but having said that if you choose to not wear a helmet im all for personal choice

 

I was going helmet shopping on Monday, but got sidetracked and had a new rear tire put on instead. Woke up late today, changed all fluids in the RK, then had to go to work. But I WILL try and find one before I leave for Arkansas on Sunday or Monday.

 

Im thinking of replacing my Shoei with that badass simpson!! I wear full face for trips over 300 miles. then I'm all geared up with leathers anyways so I look less dumb I think. Helmets annoy me but so does rain and wind at highway speeds so its a toss up. MY shoei is getting a little loose after all these years, at 100+ the top of the chin bar will actually touch my nose just a hair fromt he wind. One thing you gotta love tho is haveing the full face on and at highway speeds see a massive junebug splat right into the shield. Its jsut like "Damn!! Glad I had the bucket on for that one!"

Cuaght one of those big black bee's in the lip today and it made it bleed.... Sucker hurt like a SOB!

 

I have an arai rx7 rr4 which is what i find to be the quietest, lightest full face helmet on the road. I had all kinds, and this one takes the cake. IT is quiet and light (made for racing, and very aerodynamic. OF course a lot of rice rocket riders wear it,and it is costly about $600. But I must ask you How much is your head worth? It is unparalelled on the highway. I always wear it on long trips. I've had several accidents in these brand of helmets, and no problems to date. I buy a new one after accidents obviously. Best price I found was at Derby Cycles. I think they are in Kentucky, but go try them on before you buy. Sizing is key.

 

i own one exactly like that ... used it in the drag car ... it is light ... guess i need to ride with it and check it out
