Glad your OK!!!!
My wife and I spent this last weekend at HD's open house rally in Tomahawk, WI. ....Had A Great Time.
Traveling back home west through northern Wisconsin my wife commented "what a beautiful ride".
I'm glad she thought so.....all I did was count deer watching me.

Deer are a big problem everywhere! Dead deer all along the roadside down here in centeral Texas. Dozens of them I seen on a 100 mile ride just a few days ago.

Thanks for all the kind comments and concern, my wife and I realize how lucky we were.
I almost didn't post this story (mostly lurk here as my post count shows), but now I'm glad I did with all the responses. Hopefully everybody will be just a little more up on the bars this time of the year.
Ride safe everyone.

Cool deer population

Im in NC and we have our share of deer also. If any of you riders up in Ohio that might own some farmland that you would want a few taken off, hit me up and we can get our license and come up and visit. Would love to help you guys out...

Yikes! That brings back some bad memories. Thank God you made it through OK. I hit a deer in July 08 and still have effects from it. I was on a Kawasaki Nomad. The deer ran out in front of me as I was going to work. I had just enough time to think,"this is going to hurt". I had 6 broken ribs, broken collar bone, broken shoulder blade, partially collapsed lung, and looked like I'd been hit by a truck. After 3 surgeries I'm as good as I'm gonna get. I was wearing an open face helmet and left a little of my chin on the road as well. The bike had over $6,000 in damage.

You can imagine how I watch for deer now!

I am sure glad to hear you're both OK. I insisted on ABS and now I have another reason! It's great to have a happy ending.

What I meant was that I just bought a NEW Ultra with ABS. I had the wheel lock up on my '07 Ultra (without ABS).

Just hit a deer Sunday evening, the good Lord took care of me but the bike went down. Now I'm trying to figure out how I can be sure it's straight when it's fixed.
