Lambskin may not be the best protective type jacket but lets face it, most of us ride in just t-shirts in the summer. So why put so much emphasis on protection when we ride unprotected 80% of the time.
A very valid point. Kind of reminds me of the riders who are fanatic about the road rash safety aspects of leather, but at the same time are anti-helmet zealots (I know one that was convinced that wearing any helmet, especially a full faced helmet) would contribute to breaking your neck in an accident because the extra weight on your head. He kept that argument up until we started calling him 'Pencil Neck'.

We ride with kevlar under that T-Shirt and jeans. My Jeans are draggin jeans with pads and kevlar. We don't Pose like that.

That's cool. I was just sayin that most of us don't worry about protective gear in the summer. So anyone who's looking at leathers but rides in t's and jeans (or with shorts) in the summer shouldn't be too concerned about a high quality protective leather.
I'm not sure how well kevlar shirts protect someone. I'm not saying they don't....but at what level? Do they provide the same protection as a high quality leather, or is about the same as a cheap, not very protective, leather? I'm just asking cause I'm curious.
Mesh gear is just as comfortable as no gear in the summer cause the wind flows right through it but a lot more protective. The ultimate mesh, Kevlar mesh, is certified for road racing by the AMA.
