Mastery, in order to help you with your anger management, may I suggest refraining from riding any more poker runs.
After this season's rash of charity rides, poker runs and alike, I'm only going to attend the one's where the registration chicks are smoking hot. This means I will only support the 874 rides for boobies sure to be held here in metro Atlanta in 2010.

I just love to ride on long trips with 3 or 4 bikers and stop along the way when we feel like it. Meet new people, and if the stop seems extra nice... spend the night. No hot doging, just smoothing down the road. Few weeks ago I went to TN from Chicago was going for four days. Took me 3 weeks... was having a blast with all the nice people I met along the way.

There usually are prizes for the tops hands, and usually one for the worst hand as well. Last poker run I participated in, there must have been at least 50 prizes awarded, as well as a cash prize.

Just did my first poker run. Noticed a lot of the same stuff. After the first stop, my wife and I just made the stops and rode independent of the groups. It worked out to be a lot of fun that way and we met some cool people at the stops. We even won a 50 dollar gift certificate to boot (first for me - never won stuff before).

For me I don't like the hard core drinlers who know back a beer or 12 at each stop, then want to ride close to me. Saw one guy stumble out to his bike and swerve off barely missing parked cars. I just waited awhile before I left. We have a hard and fast rule, if we're putting on a ride, none of the members can win. Also, like others, we let a small child we don't know pull the winner out of the prize hopper made of screened wire just like you see on tv. Everybody can see the kid has nothing in his hand before and can watch the kid pull the winner.
