I ran a Jaguar XJR from a light a few months ago….it was a kick. We mostly just rolled it on at about 20mph. I was pretty surprised to see him right on my fender in the rear view up to 70 or so….. didn’t realize those things are 400+ hp. He gave me a thumbs up when I let off and he rolled by.
I had some dude in a Z06 pull along side me at about 65mph on a divided highway in the city and do the romp on it thing. LOL I wanted no part of that. He tore off flooring it. It was quite a site to see him roar past what must have been 100mph.
I got me a $140 speeding ticket a few weeks ago…..69mph in a 50 zone…..reduced to 60mph in a 50…. It puts a damper on my need for speed.

That's because people just want to stay close enough to you to watch you.

So I'm cruising down one of the local county highways when a tricked out pick-up truck pulls up along me on my left side. (Four lane highway) He starts doing the speed up, slow down, thing right next to me. I look at him like, are you serious? I'm not one for racing around but I knew the road, I knew 55 MPH was coming up and there were no intersections. So, what the hell?" I'm doing fifty in 5th gear @ 2100 rpms when we came up on the sign. I didn't bother dropping it into 4th I just opened it up and went into sixth around 80 and looked in my rear view mirror at 100, he was fifty yards behind me so I backed off. I felt that was sufficient. Then he comes roaring past me (Several seconds later) as if to say "I won!"
