When I was on the force, we use to call rookies like that squirrels. I don't think he did it because you ride a HD, he did it because he hasn't yet learned how to execise discretion.

 

Does your state have a decibel limit...if not...screw the ticket...In any case I'd look at the guy like is this a joke? With no decibel reading its all perspective loudness and you can't make that the law.

In 12 yrs, I never have written a ticket for open exhaust, or ape hangers, both of where are illegal here. Problem you face, is the fact that you more than likely knew the exhaust was illegal when you put it on, and therefore were taking your chances in regards to meeting up with Off. Richard Cranium.

Got to agree with Bigdog on this one. When I was flipping back n forth between HD and Goldwing, one of our Motor Officers told me "A gold wing is a good bike, and you can get one if you want. BUT....that will make you a *****, and you won't be riding with us"

Was your ticket by chance in Richardson County Nebraska? Sounds like the jerk I ran into back in March. Didn't give a hoot that I was a fellow LEO, and wrote the speeding ticket anyway. THEN called my Department to complain about my driving.[:@]
