Where to put it? Installing rear fender
I bought a ness taildragger rear fender for my 2000 springer softail and am beginning to install it. Obviously I will have to match the top of the fender with the bottom of the 2-up saddle- same top height of oem. So, my question is where do I put the two relays (I think that's what they are) that are under the seat that are bolted into the cutout of the fender? I could cut a huge notch out of my new fender but it will weaken the rear fender and I don't know if it would be strong enough to handle 2-up riding. So, I am thinking on relocating them, but it looks a little tight around there.
Anybody relocate these to an inconspicuous spot?

I have a strutless rear fender.I looked around for somewhere else to put it and decided to just cut a notch in the new fender for it.Is your fender steel?Once you put the fender between the struts it should be fine.Think about this, the stock fender is pretty flimsy and it carried a passenger with a big hole in it, at least it did on my bike, so the new one should too.

Jimb if my fender was steel I wouldn't question it, but I it is fiberglass that's why I am a little nervous about cutting a big hole in it.

I hear ya on the frame horns, but I am also thinking with a hole in the middle the fender may be weak enough to flex alot and maybe not fail or crack, but maybe enough to flex and crack paint, etc.
Also, someone told me it is not a relay, it's my ecm and the ecm.
I am leaning towards tossing out the "tray" it is bolted to and just cutting a hole the size of the ecm. The ecm for my bike is pretty small and the tray is huge.
Nobody has relocated that huh?
