Default First ride on new Harley

I took my new Harley out for her first ride and it was interesting. As I left the driveway, I killed it. The throttle is touchy and I was a little jerky at first shifting. Once I rode around town a little, I took it out on the highway. We have a lot of paved country roads without very much traffic on them so I could concentrate on getting used to the new toy. The roads are narrow with a lot of corners so I got plenty of practice on the corners. I had the opportunity to do plenty of shifting and that got better. It's been close to 25 years since I had ridden a motorcycle, but it started to come back to me. I put about 50 miles on my Springer before I decided to head home and see what the wife and kids wanted to do today. It was a blast and I could have gone on longer but I had other things to do. I'm glad that I came back when I did because about an hour after I got back, we had a terrific thunder and lightning storm and I don't think that I would have wanted to be out in that. At least I was able to get my feet wet and hopefully, I will be able to ride more after it stops raining. More later.

Congrats Springer,

Sounds like you had a great day. Glad you missed the rain. I rode about 200 miles today on a dinner run. Great weather here. Suppose to rain later tonight and tomorrow though.

Keep us up on your new bike.

Springer,

The maiden voyage, always a thrill and especially after waiting so long, glad you enjoyed it and missed the big storm.

Howdy Mac, I have another post that says that I couldn't get the computer to accept the pics on the camera. I'm not a computer kind of buy, but the kids tried and it just wouldn't work. I don't know what's wrong, but we will keep trying until we get it done. Sorry about the pics, I was looking forward to showing off my new Harley. Maybe some day.
