ORIGINAL: QT Hush

My Dad rode, and while growing up a couple of local club members lived in the neiborhood and I was highly impressed with their choppers. (1960's) I imagined my mini-bike was a Harley-Davidson Chopper. So goes the love affair with riding a motorcycle.
Your post reminded me of an old Ruttman minibike I had. We cut the front forks in half, and welded in some plumbing pipes (threads on both ends and all). Lengthened the forks about 18". I thought I had the coolest chopper around. I couldn't lean foo far back, 'cause the C of G was way off, and I would flip. What a ball!

I have always admired Harley's but just never seemed to want to take the plunge.
That was until the Night Trains came out. And then when they came out with the
200mm tire that was it, I had to have one!
To tell you the truth though I was not really that excited the day I finally picked it up.
I don't know why, maybe I was numb realizing a long standing dream.
But each time I go out to the garage and see it parked there, and each time I crank it
up to ride, I get more and more hooked on the thing!

Ever since I was a teen, I was in awe of Harley Davidson's....Not only the machine, but the whole image....classic, cool, free, independent, AMERICAN, etc... I had a few Jap bikes, but knew one day that I would be the proud owner of a HD...the true legend I grew to love.
Then 2mths ago I walked into our local HD, saw the Softail Deluxe..black cherry pearl...and took it home!!!!!!! It was one look and the only bike I looked at...I just knew!!!!!
