Well, I've used both the SE 6spd and the Bakler DD6. Both are excellent transmissions. I've used the SE in my '03 Heritage with the big bore kit and cams. (92HP/100ftlbs) for 54,000 miles and have had absolutely NO problems. The Baker has been run for 45,000 miles with the same results. Both are well worth the money, can't go wrong with either.

My S/E 6-speed is getting installed next week, along with a 103. I did a ton of research, and the S/E looks to be the best unit out there. I really looked hard at the Baker, but I didn't want to have to screw around with the primary gearing in order to get an overdrive.

The icing on the cake was the recommendation of the guy I have putting it all together.

But the Baker is certainly a quality piece.

Just asking, but what about a stock 6 speed tranny ?

The '07-later 6-speed is a different animal. The S/E maintains the same ratios as the stock 5-speed, and adds an overdriven 6th gear.

Brian, the 103/6-speed combination is a winner. I ride with a bunch of guys that are using it. With one exception, everyone's running the S/E gears and everyone's happy with them.

Of course, my bike is blacker than all of theirs (and yours) so it'll be faster.....
